I had a blog for years, and I wrote in it a lot. It disappeared because in 2012 I…did something, I have no idea what. I changed hosts? I changed domains? I truly have no idea, but the result was that I was happily writing until 2018, and then everything disappeared.
I finally found my posts in various parts of the internet, and saved them as Word documents, because I am not technologically advanced enough for Google things. I am going to make a blog archive of those, and keep writing here. Naturally, once I found everything, got my host domain together in one spot (I think I had 3 domains??), I bought a computer, because why wouldn’t I? I want to write a blog, and I didn’t have a computer. I researched computers for 10 minutes, and then asked some nice IT guys at work “Is this a good computer?” and they said yes, so I bought it. I used my Amazon credit card, so it wasn’t real money.
That basically sums up everything you need to know about my level of fiscal responsibility.
This website will evolve, new blog posts, old blog posts, hopefully some out of context quotes, and whatever else I think of.
For now, here is what you need to know:
- I do not edit anything that I post, this is unadulterated Darcy Brain leaking out – this means there will be typos, there will be some stream of consciousness writing, and I will most definitely forget what I was writing mid sentence, leave it there, and start a new topic.
- 2. Most of what I write about is my life and the spectacle that it can be – it is usually pretty entertaining, but not always.
- 3. I used to have a section called Ask the Darcy, and I got some really fun questions and writing prompts – feel free to use the little “Contact” button in that same manner.
- 4. I hate naked people. I just like to get that out of the way, right off the bat.
- 5. A list should not end on 4 things, it should end on either 3 or 5 things, so I had to include this.
I am looking forward to reintroducing myself, and I do so hope you will join me in the chaos.
I am done with this one now, go about your business.
